Stamp for Danny Thomas, Sign the petition today!

Each year, the United States Postal Service honors a handful of Americans who have endeared themselves to the nation with their talent, service or humanity by paying tribute to these unique individuals with a commemorative stamp. Danny Thomas, the late entertainer and founder of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, has certainly earned a place among this prestigious group. Supporters of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital have submitted a proposal to create a Danny Thomas stamp.

Today is the last day to sign a petition supporting a U.S. postage stamp in honor of
St. Jude founder Danny Thomas. In November, supporters of St. Jude, spearheaded by the ALSAC Board of Directors Special Events Committee, submitted a proposal to create a stamp and hope to win approval for the proposed stamp to be issued in 2012. That would commemorate the 100th birthday of Danny Thomas and coincide with the 50th anniversary of the opening of St. Jude. Employees can show their support for a Danny Thomas stamp by signing the petition that will be sent to the Citizens Stamp Advisory Committee.
